  • LOURIE ZIPF - EQUINE PHOTGRAPHY
"It's difficult to explain the immense bond that people have with their horses. I think it's something that only the horse owner can understand. The picture is a wonderful way to express that strong emotional connection between horses and owners and I hope to some degree, that my photographs are able to achieve that.

Horses are powerful creatures, with muscular, well-defined bodies. The way the light glimmers and shines from the vast array of coat colors and all the while, it constantly changes as the horse moves, is unmatched with any other subject."

Lourie has take time away from her Equine Photography to do some of the shots of the band seen here on this web site.

  • RIVER FORKS INN (Historic Stage Stop)
This beautiful stone and log structure has been instrumental in preserving the legacy of the River Forks Hotel, renamed the River Forks Inn when it reopened after the 1976 Big Thompson Canyon Flood.

Prior to 1909, the Forks was a stop for the stagecoach and other horse drawn carriages traveling between Loveland and Estes Park. Passengers would stop for food at the restaurant, and the stage driver would change horses at the stables.

The flood of 1976 resulted in several feet of water in the first floor the hotel. The west end of the building so badly damaged that a complete reconstruction was done.

In September, 2004, the property was purchased by william E Jones DVM and his wife Ann. They have been busy restoring and fixing the damaged parts of the hotel. They invite everyone to come back and enjoy a week-end stay at the newly remodeled River Forks Inn.
